A Bountiful Harvest
Each year as part of the “community garden,” harvest includes hundreds of trips into the fields. Over the course of the season: maze is planted, tended, picked, shucked, placed into bins to dry, shelled, placed in sacks and then stored.
The Nyangombe tractors, trailers and sheller are all essential to this process. Having the grain store, which was built thanks to substantial western support, has enabled people to save their maze and then use it or sell it throughout the year.
God’s provision through the 2022 harvest has resulted in a full grain store. This has provided needed income for families to feed and educate their children.
